A publicly funded higher education institution operating within a regulated environment needed to improve its Information and Records Management maturity to meet statutory and regulatory obligations. Following an independent IRM health check that identified low maturity levels and gaps in governance, Agile was engaged to deliver a structured programme focused on strengthening records management across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Purview.
The organisation faced challenges including inconsistent Information and Records Management practices, information sprawl, difficulty identifying authoritative records, and growing compliance risk. Agile delivered stakeholder workshops, developed a Business Classification Scheme and organisation wide file plan, defined retention schedules aligned to legal and regulatory requirements, and provided practical guidance and training to support long term adoption.
As a result, the organisation established a more defensible governance framework, improved visibility and control of information assets, reduced redundant and obsolete information, and created a more streamlined and collaborative information environment. With strong foundations now in place, the organisation is progressing to the next phase of its electronic records management capability within Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Purview.
